Progressive Phonics

Progressive Phonics is an all-in-one reading program that is easy, fun, and totally FREE---that's right, totally and completely free!

And with Progressive Phonics, ANYONE can teach a child to read and write in just a few minutes a day, which makes it ideal for parents, teachers, tutors, volunteers and home-schoolers.

star No experience necessary. Just pick a book and start reading it with your child/students.

star Matching handwriting worksheets and activity sheets for each book -- when children write what they learn, they learn it better.

star Also teaches the essential sight-words (phonics rule-breakers) that most phonics programs fail to teach.

star Instant access -- download and use today. (Free registration required, but there are sample books you can look at before registering.)

star Our books can be read on-screen or printed on your color printer. Each book takes 4--8 minutes to print and uses as little ink and paper as possible.

But don't judge a book by it's home page. Read one of our books with a child and see for yourself.

I have just signed up to start using this program... and so far I am loving it!!!!

I am putting together some things for a Winter theme and I thought I would share it all with you.

Finger plays
5 Little Snowmen

5 little snowmen sitting on the ground, (pat hands on floor)
the first one said; "oh my aren't we round." (make circle with arms)
The second one said; "there are snowflakes in the air." (wiggle fingers above head)
The third one said; "but we don't care." (shrug shoulders)
The fourth one said; "lets run and run and run. (pat hands quickly on the floor)
The fifth one said; "I'm ready for some fun." (smile)
Whew went the wind (blow) and out came the sun (make circle with arms over head)
and the five little snowman knew their fun was done.( pretend your melting)

Change of Plans - Movie

Monday, January 03, 2011 AnnMarie Brown 1 Comments

I love family movies. Ones that warm my heart.

Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) and Walmart (NYSE: WMT) will premiere their latest made-for-TV family movie, "Change of Plans," starring Brooke White, Joe Flanigan and Phylicia Rashad on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 8/7c on FOX.

"Change of Plans" demonstrates how our lives can be turned upside down with a single phone call. When Sally Danville (Brooke White, "American Idol") finds out that her best friend from college died in a tragic accident while serving in the Peace Corps, Sally also learns that she has been named the legal guardian of her friend's four children - three of whom were adopted from third-world countries. Now Sally and her husband, Jason (Joe Flanigan, "Stargate: Atlantis"), must quickly learn to parent this instant family and help the kids deal with culture clashes and life in America. The story is both humorous and heartwarming, revealing how fulfilling life can be when you look beyond your own plans and invest in the lives of others.

This is a movie the whole family can watch. Sounds like a good time to pop some popcorn and enjoy a great movie.

A New Year

Saturday, January 01, 2011 AnnMarie Brown 0 Comments

It is a new year!!!!

Most of all I am blessed to have another year to make a difference in this world. I love to serve others and do things to make people smile.

I would like to save more than $4000 using coupons and rebates this year. I did very well last year but our income is so limited I must tighten things up by putting more effort into every thing I do so that it makes a difference in my house. I love being home for my family and I also run a home daycare so I get to play with children all day long.

I am looking forward to many changes in 2011 .... I will be posting personal goals I want to attain for 2011 to help hold myself accountable.
