Dishwashing tips I found helpful from #FinishRevolution

As part of the #FinishRevolution blogger program I was invited to take part in a Webinar filled with dish washing tips for your dishwasher. I did not attend the webinar but through the magic of internet I was able view it all later once I got home.


For the last 22 years of owning a dishwasher here I thought you only had to put the dishes in and press the button. I have learned so much about the science behind dishwasher detergents and taking proper care of my dishwasher. Here are some of the things I learned as a result of this program:

• dishwashers need hot water to function properly at least (120*)
• nesting your dishes in the dishwasher while loading prevents the water from circulating properly
• pots and pans can go in the dishwasher along with stainless steel water bottles (I can hear all your sports moms cheering already about that.)
• a pre-rinse is not required if you are using a quality detergent
• storing your detergent under the sink is one of the worse places as it is usually moist there and that activates your detergent even before it used in the dishwasher
