15 Minute Chicken Teriyaki (video included) #WhatsCookingWednesdayYum
My days are very busy and it seems like running out for fast food can be the only option but since we are on a NO spend January that is not an option. Finding meals that can be cooked quickly is my only option most evenings.
I decided to go to my old stand by meals that for some reason I forgot all about and Chicken Teriyaki just happens to be one of them. All you have to do is in the morning pull out your chicken and the rest will come together quite easily once you are ready to prepare your meal for the day.
First things first you need to make the Teriyaki Sauce....
15 Minute Chicken Teriyaki
3 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 1/2 tbsp Honey
1/2 tbsp Ketchup or Tomato Paste
1 tbsp Teriyaki Seasoning
Mix together all four ingredients listed above.
Coat strips of chicken in sauce before putting into fry pan.
Add your choice of veggies to the fry pan.
Add rest of sauce to the fry pan over top of veggies.
Cook until done approximately 15 minutes.
- If you want to thicken the sauce add 1 tbsp cornstarch once you bring the stir fry to a boil.
- We used red peppers, green peppers, celery and onions in our stir fry and served it over white rice.
- I also made a double batch of the teriyaki sauce so that we had enough to cover all our veggies.
