Creating a Bucket List for the Summer

Summer is almost upon us and it is time to get a list together of fun activities we can do as a family. In my house I like to post some of our ideas on our vintage chalkboard in our kitchen to remind us of things we can do all summer long.

How do we create our summer bucket list is a question I am asked often so I thought I would share with you how we come up with our fun list of stuff to do.

The first thing I do is ask everyone in the family for fun things they would like to do this summer and we take everyone's ideas into consideration when making the list. I try to gear our bucket list to family activities so can have fun together.

Here are some ideas we came up with to do with our family this summer...

  • campfires in the backyard
  • roast marshmallows
  • dinner on the patio
  • bbqs
  • go to the beach
  • build sand castles
  • go to a car show
  • enjoy slushies on a hot day
  • make ice cream
  • check out some local festivals
  • go berry picking
  • stop at a Farmer's Market
  • have some Corn on the Cob
  • Water Balloon Fight
  • go Yard Saling
  • camp out in the living room with movies
  • blow bubbles
  • go to the park
  • float around the pool
  • go swimming
  • go for a bike ride
  • fishing
  • geocaching
  • road trips
  • visit favourite ice cream shop
  • read a book
  • hiking
  • visit a food truck
  • eat some watermelon
  • creating a mural with sidewalk chalk
  • play hopscotch
  • jumping rope
  • jump through the sprinkler
Most importantly soak up every chaotic, glorious moment of the summer spent with the people you love.
