Have you noticed on the shelves in your grocery store Reese Spread usually located by the peanut butter? My daughter spotted it a few weeks ago so when I was asked if I wanted to sample some and be part of spreading the word about this new product I could not resist.

I am not a big chocolate fan so at first I was hesitant but I was pleasantly surprised that it had more of a peanut butter flavour then a chocolate flavour. It was definitely a win in our house. A jar of Reese Spread does not last long here.

This delightful tasting spread was just to good to be wasted on just bread and bananas so I decided to add it to my granola recipe to see how it would turn out. It was outstanding!!! There are other great recipes on the Hershey site if you are looking to use your spread for other things.

Reese Spread Granola

1/4 cup Reese Spread
1/4 cup Coconut Oil
1/4 cup Honey

3 cups Oats
1/2 cup Almonds

1. Melt Reese spread, coconut oil and honey in a small sauce pan.
2. Mix Oats and Almonds together and then add melted Reese Spread mixture.
3. Stir to coat.
4. Spread out on greased cookie sheet.
5. Cook in preheated over at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes turning at the half point mark.

Notice: What you take out the granola it will be wet but it dries as it cools. Also you can add other things to your granola mixture just make sure it equals approximately 3 1/2 cups. I have added sunflower seeds and different dried berries from time to time. The sky is the limit.
