My Trip to New York City

I hate to admit it but it took a work trip to get me to New York City. I was also blessed to take my oldest daughter with me on this trip to NYC.

It isn't that I haven't ever wanted to go to NYC it is just trying to fit it into my life has been near impossible.

MY TRIP TO NYC

I am not a fan of flying and even less of a fan of flying alone. Can you guess how I traveled to NYC? Yep, alone and by plane. I had a plan to listen to some podcasts I had downloaded for my trip to the big apple. I had two flights to get to New York City because there was no direct flight from where I was flying out of.

I wish I had a photo to share of my landing in LGA but unfortunately when I boarded the plane the other person was in my window seat, closed the window and snoring. Sad I know! Anyway totally not impressed with that. So I just sat in his seat. Hence no photos of landing in NYC.

THE W UNION SQUARE

I was picked up at the airport by a lovely driver. I so wish I could remember his name. He was just delightful and such a breath of fresh air for my drive into Manhattan. He pointed out all the sights along the way to me and told me what the weather was going to be like during my trip. He dropped me off at The W Union Square where I would be staying for the night and meeting up with my travel companion also know as my daughter.

We were staying by Union Square and I loved the mixture of old and new architecture. The buildings were beautiful and gave me a new appreciation for New York. The one thing I have to say that surprised me the most is I have always heard how New Yorkers are not nice people and that was not my experience at all. I found everyone I met along my journey to be so nice and accommodating and helpful.

I didn't have time to do a whole lot of tourist stuff or sightseeing for that matter but I did have time to take in the sights close by our hotel and most importantly enjoy my time with my daughter away before she finishes her last year of university. We really did have the time of our life and I can't wait to head back to New York City with my husband.

Thanks Netflix for treating us like Rock Stars for the two days we were in NYC. We enjoyed all the events we attended (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 2 Premiere coming April 15th) and most importantly made memories that will last a lifetime.

What is one thing we must do next time we go to New York City?

*I was provided complimentary lodging and travel from Netflix, for coverage of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 2 premiere event coverage. No other form of compensation was received.
